for some reason i always get gloomier around christmas time. maybe it's the weather, maybe it's the feeling of being alone, maybe it's the realization of "oh damn, the year is almost over". whatever the reason is, shit sucks

trying to shake off my art block, and after a few hours of starting something and then scrapping it, it feels like my brain is leaking out of my head

i tried looking for the source files for all my bryce art, which i swore i backed up. when i went to look in the folder where i thought i'd copied them, there was nothing there. Uh oh. there's only one other place where i think they could be, and that's on a dead hard drive. Uh oh

the touch buttons on the xbox 360 slim are a terrible design choice. i usually try to give grace for stuff like this but no. this is horrible. the worst. whenever i lean over to plug in the ethernet cable, my boob touches the eject button. the disc tray on this thing was snapped off (Not by my hand), so it's just the Grinding Noise Button. they're so sensitive it pisses me off so bad

finally finished up arx fatalis after playing it on and off over a year. it's a good game, but i prefer the first half over the second. there's a somewhat sharp difficulty spike somewhat close to the end. that's my fault though, i (foolishly) tried going for a full melee build, and it's more pointy than sharp, honestly. five minutes later you get the best armor in the game and everything's easy again

i've started playing elite dangerous; don't know why i've been putting this game off for so long, it's fun so far. i'm still in the starter galaxy so i can't make a full judgement yet

i've been using the classic rinky-dink logitech extreme 3d pro as a flight stick. there are a load of problems i can complain about (the hand rest digging into my wrist, the z-axis being very, very sensitive), but maybe i shouldn't considering i got it for around $5

update: my computer is kinda dogshit and can't run it that well. if this is the game that finally makes me upgrade my pc i'll laugh my ass off
